Blackrock Residence
The project involved the reconstruction and extension of a detached dormer bungalow to create a substantial two-storey house on a prominent corner site in Blackrock, Co. Dublin. The original footprint was extended to the front, without significant loss of space to the mature rear garden. The internal layout includes a number of large interconnecting rooms, which open off a double-height entrance hall. The design uses traditional materials, such as local brown granite and copper, together with contemporary materials such as glass and walnut
