St. Kevin's Church, Harrington Street, Dublin.
This project involves the conservation and consolidation of the cut stone traceries around the five windows in the sanctuary. This stone has begun to crack and spall in recent years as a result of prolonged water ingress through the external wall. The traceries will be repaired through a combination of stone grafts and localised repairs in a matching repair mortar. The cement-based external pointing adjacent to the windows, which has caused much of the water damage, will be replaced with traditional lime mortar. The repairs to the traceries necessitate the removal of the stained glass from all five windows. This glass will be cleaned and conserved prior to the reinstatement of the windows. The works are to be carried out in accordance with best conservation practice.
